Al-Qaeda-linked Somali militia group Al-Shabaab blames for Nairobi attack http://english.cntv.cn/program/newsupdate/20120312/106154.shtml
The death toll from Saturday's grenade attack in Nairobi has risen to six, following the death of two more people in hospital. The Kenyan government says it’s increasing security in the Kenyan capital and will bring those responsible to justice. Al-Qaeda-linked Somali militia group "Al-Shabaab" are being blamed for the attack, the third in Nairobi since Kenyan troops entered Somalia in pursuit of the militants last year.
Lucky to be alive, These are among the survivors of Saturday nights multiple blasts that rocked down town Nairobi killing three people instantly and claiming another life on the way to hospital.
A man injured in a grenade attack at a downtown bus station is carried into the hospital after arriving by ambulance at Kenyatta Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, Saturday, March 10, 2012.
Overnight the death toll climbed to six as two more patients died as a result of their injuries. Over 60 others were admitted to hospital.
Last evening, one of the survivors spoke to CCTV about his ordeal the moment the blasts occurred
Grenade attack victim Nickson Nyongesa said: "We had a noise and I hit the ground. It’s only later that I felt a pain on my leg and realized I was injured."
And just hours after the attacks, Kenyan authorities were quick to point a finger of blame at the al-Qaeda-linked Somali militant group, al-shabaab drawing on similarities to previous attacks carried out last October by the same group in Nairobi.
Kenyan internal security minister George Saitoti said: "Initial suspicion is that of al-shabaab. This is their style."
The latest attacks came hours after heavy clashes between AL-Shabaab and Ethiopian forces on a day of renewed fighting in central Somalia.
Reporter: "Nairobi has largely been spared of such attacks with the northern part of Kenya bearing the brunt."
Yesterday’s attack targeted one of the busiest bus terminus in the country from here thousands of people travel to various destinations across Kenya every single day and authorities will be relieved that the death toll was not much much higher.
The Kenyan government has promised to bring to justice those responsible for the attack.
George Saitoti said: "They will be dealt with."
Kenyan troops are currently engaged in military action against the militant group al-shabaab following several attacks within its borders, it claims were carried out by the Islamist group.
It’s troops are set to join an UN backed African Union peace mission in Somalia that includes Uganda, Burundi and Ethiopia whose mandate is to restore peace in Somalia, a country that has been in conflict over two decades.

Syrian army regains full control of Idlibhttp://www.presstv.ir/detail/231622.html
The Syrian army has regained the full control of Syria's northern city of Idlib, as it moves to maintain security in the region.
Reports say the armed rebels fighting the Syrian government fled the city after four days of clashes with the Syrian troops. "Since last night there has been no more fighting," Noureddin al-Abdo, an Idlib citizen told AFP on Wednesday. The army launched its operation on the rebels in the Idlib province near the Turkish border on Saturday in a bid to root out the "armed gangs." Officials say at least 50 armed terrorists have been killed so far. The operation in Idlib came two weeks after Syrian troops regained the control of the Baba Amr neighborhood in the western city of Homs following a month-long fighting with the armed rebels. Heavy clashes have also been reported in the city of Daraa. Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March and many people, including security forces, have lost their lives in the violence. The West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of killing the protesters. But Damascus blames ''outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups'' for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad. .................................................................................................................................... The Turkish primier said that Tel Aviv has resumed its airstrikes on Palestinians after it failed to destroy Gaza by withholding food, fuel and medications.
"A genocide has been committed slowly but systematically in Palestine since the beginning of the 20th century," said Erdogan, describing Gaza as "the largest open air prison in the world.” He supported the Palestinian resistance fighters who are "protecting their rights and their lands.” "I once more reiterate my call to Israel to end its inhumane attack on Gaza and Palestine's territories, and I particularly call on Israeli citizens, who are also victims of a genocide, to object to genocide attempts against Palestinians and ask their state to end state terrorism," Erdogan said. More than 25 Palestinians, including children and women, have been killed and dozens of others wounded in Israeli airstrikes since March 9. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blatantly said on Sunday that the Tel Aviv regime will continue airstrikes against Gaza "as long as necessary.” China, Turkey, Iran, Jordan and the Arab League have condemned the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. Israel imposed a war on the Gaza Strip in December 2008-January 2009. More than 1,400 Palestinians were killed in the conflict.

Palestinian boy dies of injuries from Israeli attacks http://www.presstv.ir/detail/231636.html
A Palestinian boy has died of his wounds, bringing to 26 the number of people killed in Israel’s four-day assault on the Gaza Strip.
The latest death occurred on Wednesday when a Palestinian schoolboy, named Baraka al-Mughrabi, succumbed to the injuries he sustained in an Israeli attack on Saturday, Emergency services spokesman Adham Abu Selmiya said.
Dozens of Palestinians have also been wounded in Israeli airstrikes which erupted on Friday.
China, Jordan, Iran and the Arab League have condemned the Israeli attacks, urging Israel to stop airstrikes.
Despite international pressure, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blatantly said on Sunday that the Tel Aviv regime would continue airstrikes against Gaza ''as long as necessary.''
Israeli war planes and ground forces have frequently attacked Gaza since the end of the 22-day war on the territory in 2009 which killed hundreds of women and children.
Gaza has been under an Israeli siege since 2007, when Hamas took control of the tiny Palestinian territory.
